Angela Vale |
An actress
since RADA and all the usual training, Angela entered rep in York, where she
eventually got married. Her husband was also an actor but took up
script-work when their first daughter, Judith, arrived. She was the
first of five girls. Her husband's script work took him to Dublin "for
a year" and 19 years later they returned to London. It was wonderful
living in Dublin, a fairly small city, where her theatre, TV and radio work
didn't mean she had to be away from her girls, but on returning to London,
she had to start all over again, which she did by
gate-crashing a West End audition, not knowing it wasn't "done".
In her
ignorance she did it, and landed the star part of Mother Peter in "Once A
Catholic...", a very good beginning, although it was a precarious life, and
there was a time when the only person in the family who was earning, was the
youngest, Claudia - in "ANNIE" a mere eight years old.
All sorts of
jobs followed, parts on TV, radio voice-overs,
successful fringe shows, like "Mr. Cinders", rep work, tours including
playing Joe McGann's Big Mamma (Cat on a Hot tin Roof) The Old Vic, and
happily working with the RSC. which happened by chance, when she did a
"cattle-call" audition and John Caird happened to see her. Her RSC
experiences were hugely varied, performing not only Shakespeare, and not
only in
Stratford, but some great new plays and working in Tokyo, Wellington, New
York, Washington, Budapest, and Paris.
Angela
considers herself lucky and now spends
a lot of time writing, which has always been her other love. She's also
hoping he'll get lucky with one of her novels, too! |

The Wish |
The Wish is a three-piece band producing music for people who
are sick of the manufactured pop-pap that is being force-fed to
the public right now. Their songs by comparison are a
breath of fresh air. The band comprises Brian Spence, Debbie
McKenna and Stewart Irving and they write, record and produce
their own songs, which have a timeless feel, combining
musicianship, big vocals and memorable harmonies.
